Change of President and CEO at INA

The President & CEO of the Southeastern Europe Telecommunications & Informatics Research Institute - INA has been replaced after the resignation of Mr. Vassili N. Takas. Mr. Takas, after 9 years as President of the Institute and having contributed substantially both to the establishment of the organization through the coordination of the largest ICT companies in the country, and its subsequent development as the leading private research institution in South Eastern Europe, decided to resign because of professional commitments that do not allow him to devote the necessary time to the further development of INA’s activities. Mr. Takas remains committed to facilitate and support the Institute’s future work.

Following a suggestion made by Mr. Takas and the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece (FING), the position of President & CEO of INA was undertaken by Dr. Pantelis Angelidis, Professor at the University of Western Macedonia, who was also the Director of the Institute during the period 2001-2005. Dr. Angelidis was born in 1967 in Xanthi. He received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1989 and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the same institution in 1994. He has worked as a Technology Consultant for private companies and public bodies. He is the founder of VIDAVO SA, a company specializing in health telematics. Mr. Angelidis is highly experienced in strategic activities standardization in the field of telecommunications and has substantial published work in international journals.

The new President of INA intends to build on the solid foundations of the past, to design a new, more dynamic course of action for INA to further consolidate its role as a Center of Excellence in the field of Information and Communication Technologies for the Governments of South Eastern Europe, and as a catalyst for growth and development in the region.
