INA Academy is delighted to announce that the Telecommunication Development Bureau of the ITU, the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (EKIP) and INA Academy are organizing a training workshop on “Envisioning the Future ICT Ecosystem”. The workshop is addressed to Policy Makers, Regulators, Corporate Executives and Managers dealing with regulatory and business issues.

The event will be hosted by EKIP in Budva, Montenegro over the period 16 - 18 June 2010. This Workshop will focus on the challenges facing the future ICT Ecosystem, including state-aid support in developing high-speed broadband access networks, policy making and regulations in the Next-Generation Access (NGA) environment, digital broadcasting and adoption of a harmonized approach in the allocation of «digital dividend». The transition to the next generation era and the underlying convergence of the media and telecommunication sectors pose new challenges for policy makers and regulators that are requested to ensure creation of a competitive level-playing field for all operators in the marketplace, while in parallel maximizing consumers’ surplus. In light of these latest developments, the expert panel discussions will attempt to address how policy makers and regulators can closely collaborate in order to identify the optimal model that will, on the one hand, attract new investments in the sector and, on the other, ensure a healthy competition development in the future ICT Ecosystem, protecting consumers interests in the best possible way.
